Been on this hike a few times and going again today, so figured I'd get up some pictures of past visits!

Beautiful pictures! It looks like a really ancient forest. I'm gonna have to upload some pics of some of the hikes I've done as well!

I went out around the Clackamas River a couple weeks back also so thought I'd post some of my pictures here too.

I stumbled upon this cable running over the Clackamas River with a 2-seated metal cart. I pushed on it a little and the thing was heavy - I wonder how it is properly used and what for.

Dan and I headed out to Clackamas together today. We got out there before sunrise and spent the good part of a day out there.

The morning fog

Ganoderma?

Purple mushrooms. Mycena pura?

Have no idea what these are but they were fruiting prodigiously enough it was worth snapping a couple pics

Toothed Jelly - Pseudohydnum gelatinosum. These are edible but bland - apparently sometimes candied. One odd thing about the latin name is that their family is declared incertae sedis. We also saw some brown capped, toothed fungi that looked rather like woodears growing on a log but when I look online I see they are also lumped in with these clear/white jellies.

Saw a bunch of coral mushrooms. I'm supposing they are all Ramaria but as is most often the case regarding mushrooms I could well be wrong. Found a good link from the Willamette Valley Mushroom Society giving some details about corals in NW Oregon too.

Ramaria araiospora var. rubella?

A nice patch of yellowfoots (Craterellus tubaeformis). These are similar to chanterelles, edible, and often sold at the farmer's markets when the season for other chanterelles is already over.

Wooly chanterelles - Gomphus floccosus. These cause gastrointestinal upset and look similar to chanterelles. Bright orange and easy to spot in the forest.

Orange Witch's Butter - Dacrymyces chrysospermus

Couple blurry photos of some kind of grisette type Amanita.

Some sedums, I think Sedum oreganum
